Huge thank you to Paul Thomas Anderson and his team for helping us bring together this programme of music videos & documentary directed by the man himself.

The 35mm prints for 'Try' and 'Save Me' have been loanded to us by PTA and his team, getting their second ever theatrical screenings in London [maybe the world, we're not sure] and they'll be joined by performances of Radiohead's 'Daydreaming', the short collection of performances by HAIM for 'Valentine' and their recent 'Summer Girl', as well as the one-reel short music-film ANIMA [screened from 35mm prints kindly donated to the cinema over the years].

We'll be closing the evening with a very rare presentation of JUNUN; which helps round out our Paul Thomas Anderson's MUSICAL COMPLEX.

MICHAEL PENN : TRY [1997] [35mm] : Music video for Michael Penn's 'Try', shot by Paul Thomas Anderson and other cast and crew from 'Boogie Nights' in a single take in the longest hall-way in North America.

AIMEE MANN : SAVE ME [1999] [35mm] : Paul Thomas Anderson-directed music video of Aimee Mann's Academy Award-nominated song. Shot during production of Anderson's 'Magnolia' and featuring the film's ensemble cast.

HAIM : VALENTINE [2017] [35mm] - Music film featuring HAIM performing 'Something To Tell You,' 'Nothing's Wrong' and 'Right Now'

HAIM : SUMMER GIRL [2019] [35mm] - Recent video for HAIM's epic summer jam, featuring our pals the New Beverly Cinema [the cinema owned by Quentin Tarantino].

RADIOHEAD : DAYDREAMING [2016] [35mm] - In this music video for Radiohead's new single, singer Thom Yorke traverses a shifting landscape of hall-ways, houses, department stores and mountains in search of an unknown destination.

ANIMA [2019] [35mm] - In a short musical film directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, Thom Yorke of Radiohead scores and stars in a mind-bending visual piece. Best played loud.  This one reel, short film was initially presented as part of a One-Night Only IMAX promo event in town, PTA and his team have managed the seemingly impossible and not only secured us the rights to play this one more time in London, but to do so from one of the only 35mm prints in the world!

JUNUN [DCP] - A journey with Jonny Greenwood on a trip to Rajasthan where Greenwood and the director are hosted by the Maharaja of Jodhpur is documented. Their final destination, the 15th-century Mehrangarh Fort, presents Greenwood and Israeli composer Shye Ben Tzur as they record an album together.
