Set in post-revolutionary Cuba, this heart-warming film follows the story of an unlikely friendship between two very different men - one a heterosexual communist, the other a gay counter-revolutionary. A relationship shaped by political struggles and betrayal, we’re shown how love can be found through the seduction of minds.

Sensitively exploring the treatment of its protagonist during a period when discrimination was particularly high in the country, on being the first Cuban film to have a gay hero, this film shows how two opposites can delicately weave into a beautiful relationship, how true self-expression can be found through the freedom of accepting differing political views to one’s own, and the role of true friendships in the construction of one’s identity.
