Jef is stranded in Budapest and so spends a day reckoning with past and present lovers, as well as an estranged family, in this gorgeous low-fi indie drama.
As Jef runs errands and navigates the dying embers of an ill-advised affair, news from home and a chance encounter prompt her to reassess the relationships in her life. Director Ben Hecking shot on Super-8 with sync sound, creating a gorgeous sense of intimacy. And with its loose narrative style, Haar recalls early Jarmusch and Cassavetes.
