Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind director Michel Gondry’s first film in eight years is a riotous ode to procrastination and the pains of producing art.
Filmmaker Marc (Pierre Niney, on hilarious form) is overdue on delivering his latest epic, and his producers are not happy. As steps are made to remove him from the project, the unhinged director takes drastic measures to maintain control of his vision. Fizzing with frenetic energy, Gondry’s teasingly autobiographical tale of creativity in crisis is blisteringly funny, thrillingly idiosyncratic and, ultimately, surprisingly heartwarming.
