Funeral Parade Queer Film Society is proud to present a super-rare 35mm presentation of Ron Peck’s Nighthawks, the first UK feature film set in the gay community.

Jim (Ken Robertson) leads a double life: by day he’s a respectable geography teacher, but at night he cruises London’s gay nightspots for hook-ups. Made just ten years after the legalisation of gay sex in the UK, the film is both a celebration of newfound freedoms as well as an affecting depiction of queer loneliness. An invaluable piece of queer history, Nighthawks is an intimate exploration of the pressures and prejudices gay men faced in the 1970s.
