For Pride Month, FUNERAL PARADE QUEER FILM SOCIETY is proud to present Fox and His Friends, Rainer Werner Fassbinder’s meditation on queerness, class and assimilation.

Franz “Fox” Bieberkopf is a cocksure but sweet-natured working-class gay man who works as a circus sideshow performer in Munich. Fox suddenly finds himself unemployed but his bad luck changes when he wins 500,000 Deutsche Marks in the lottery. It’s then that he catches the eye of Eugen, a handsome upper crust gay scenester, but their blossoming romance soon sours as Fox’s sense of self begins to slip away.

Fox and His Friends is a biting, incisive examination of the intersections between class and sexuality as well as a quietly devastating piece of melodrama.
