A couple’s dream of idyllic family life in the Finnish woods is shattered by the arrival of their nightmarish new baby, in Hanna Bergholm’s riotously gory folk horror.

Drawing deeply from the wells of folk horror and psychological post-natal angst, director Bergholm pits Seidi Haarla and Rupert Grint’s new parents against their hairy, howling offspring, which displays a taste for raw meat over milk. Gruesome and bloody, it’s also chock-full of self-aware humour that surely guarantees the film’s place as a future cult classic.
