Co-written with Céline Sciamma, Noémie Merlant’s bright and bold film follows three friends as they try to dispose of the body of an abuser they’ve accidentally killed.

It’s a summer heatwave in Marseille, and best friends Ruby, Élise and Nicole are just trying to live their best lives. But when they’re attacked by a neighbour, an act of self-defence leads to them trying to hide his body. Unfortunately, his ghost won’t stop bothering them. Gloriously gory and funny, The Balconettes is a gleefully original slice of feminist film.
