I WILL TELL International Film Festival has been held for the past 15 years in London, and has been established as a platform for celebrating untold stories that challenge perspectives and catalyse change.

The Opening Gala at the BFI is the premiere of CLOCK  which will have a second screening at Prince Charles Cinema. This British urban coming of age story is directed by an exciting upcoming Black British Female Director, Lola Atkins. The cast and crew for CLOCK are predominantly BAME and Female.

Director of CLOCK Lola Atkins said: “I've had my fair share of setbacks within the industry, it was so prevalent when I first started in the early 2000s. Everywhere I went, every door I knocked, I received a firm and colourful 'No' room here. At the time, it didn't occur to me why I kept getting 'NO'. I was educated, a hard worker (still am), prepared to go over and above, and a hustler (which most East-enders bred folks are).

Fast forward almost 20 years later, after a lot of falling and getting back up again, I'm delighted that we now have amazing, phenomenal platforms like I WILL TELL, which have deliberately chosen to be the voice and legs for those who unfortunately got a lot of 'NOs' but refused to accept the NO.  I’m delighted         also that our romantic drama 'CLOCK', will be screened not just once but twice at I Will Tell.”

In addition to Screenings, Q&As and after-parties, special events include the Festival’s Community Day – 11:11, an all-day event with outdoor screenings from 11 am to 11 pm showcasing some old favourites as well as new films from around the world on Portobello Green.

The entire closing weekend of the festival will be held at the Prince Charles Cinema, in particular one of the festival highlights is the CLOSING PEACE GALA and Premiere of SLOVO HOUSE: UNFINISHED NOVEL, a challenging Ukrainian epic on the relationship between authority, power and creativity. Speakers for the Q&A for this event include the Filmmakers, the Ukrainian Ambassador and representatives from countries around the world with underreported crises.

I Will Tell features World Premieres as well as classic favorites from around the globe and presents dramatic features, documentaries, animated, and short films.Screenings are followed by post-screening discussions with filmmakers, subject matter experts and global icons.

Festival Founder and Director Jenny Lee commented, “In a sense the festival itself has had to walk through the same challenges of being an outsider and succeeding against the odds as some of our films’ protagonists. That is perhaps part of what makes I Will Tell so much more than watching films.”
