INGMAR BERGMAN : SELECTROSPECTIVE

INGMAR BERGMAN : SELECTROSPECTIVE

The name Ingmar Bergman is synonymous with cinema. Fellow director Alejandro G. Iñárritu (The Revenent, Birdman) revered him almost as a god: when visiting Bergman's home on Swedish island Fårö, he cried out: "If cinema was a a religion, this would be Mecca, the Vatican... the centre of it all."

We have gathered six of the legendary filmmaker's works in a vital season of cinema - INGMAR BERGMAN: SELECTROSPECTIVE. From heavy-hitting masterpieces PERSONA (1966) and THE SEVENTH SEAL (1957), to a film that - upon release - was deemed too low-brow to be reviewed by the New York Times: SUMMER WITH MONIKA (1953).

Bergman's trove of deeply complex characters, striking visuals, and his intimately personal way of exploring great themes like death and love, make his body of work a magnificent feat that altered the course of cinema.
