NEW RELEASE + RE-RELEASE SCREENINGS

The full list of New Release, and the odd re-release, films currently in the building and when they're screening!

£1 Member Screenings

Every now and then we pick a film in our programme and offer it up to our lovely members for only £1.  Don't worry if you've purchased a ticket before the price-drop, just bring it to the Box Office on the night to claim your partial refund.

PLEASE NOTE: From time to time, we may pick a film that has multiple screenings in our programme as the £1 for Members film. Due to the build of our website, when we add said films to this page, all of the scheduled performances will show up, including those that aren't £1 for Members. Only screenings marked with "£1 Mem. Film" next to the time are Members Screenings. Any others will be priced at full price.

If you see a solo screening that isn't marked with "£1 Mem. Film", but on this page, it is likely because we haven't yet removed the film from this page from a previous Members Screening - and these, too, are not £1 for Member screenings. We try to update the page one or two times a week. We apologise for any inconveniece.

A LUKAS MOODYSSON SELECTROSPECTIVE

Lukas Moodysson has a slate of vastly different masterpieces. The Swedish filmmaker was dubbed a "young master" by legendary director Ingmar Bergman, and yet, he is no household name beyond his native country.

But his work - chronicling everything from coming out in a small town, to kids starting a punk band in the 80's, to an unflinching depiction of a trafficked teenager - will leave you absolutely breathless. Sometimes from laughter. Sometimes from devastation. Perhaps that's why Moodysson is difficult to figure out.

THE FILMS OF MICHAEL MANN

If you missed the Michael Mann-Athon in January, fret not. We have added extra shows of the director's greatest works - and watch this space, because more will be added very soon.

The line-up includes THIEF (1981), COLLATERAL (2004), HEAT (1995) ("Soooo gooood!" in the words of Ava Duverney), and MIAMI VICE (2006). Join us as we celebrate Michael Mann, the master of high stakes.

Trans-X-Ploitation - a series of screenings re-examining trans-themed exploitation cinema of yesteryear

Outwardly, Glen (Ed Wood) is the picture of clean-cut all-American masculinity. He’s about to marry his beautiful, loving fiancée Barbara (Dolores Fuller), but there’s another woman in Glen’s life – his “other self”, Glenda. Having cross-dressed in private for years, Glen/Glenda is terrified that their secret will scupper any chances for a happy future with Dolores. But could love conquer all?

Independent programmers TGirlsOnFilm (Jaye Hudson) and Funeral Parade (Sarah Cleary) are proud to present Trans-X-Ploitation, a series of screenings re-examining trans-themed exploitation cinema of yesteryear. We’re kicking off the season with Ed Wood’s ground-breaking psychodrama Glen or Glenda. Though often misremembered as “camp” or “so bad it’s good”, Wood’s semi-autobiographical film is actually a deeply affecting account of a gender non-conforming life, as well as singular blend of melodrama, horror and experimental cinema.
